9 News HD: Pakistan has told the United Nations that India is supporting terrorism against Pakistan through groups operating from Afghanistan. Islamabad made the allegation during discussions at the UN, saying India is providing support to militant groups through Afghan territory.
Pakistan said India is providing material and logistical support to groups including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). According to Pakistan, these groups are being used to carry out attacks inside the country.
Pakistan also raised concerns about the role of Afghanistan in the issue. Islamabad said some militant groups are based in Afghanistan and claimed that India is helping them. Pakistan has repeatedly called on Afghan authorities to prevent their territory from being used for attacks against Pakistan.
The issue has remained a major concern in Pakistan’s relations with both Afghanistan and India. Pakistani officials have also said that the country continues to share information about its concerns with international partners and relevant UN bodies.
Pakistan told the UN that it wants international attention on what it describes as cross-border terrorism. Islamabad has also said it supports a peaceful and stable Afghanistan but wants stronger action against groups operating from Afghan territory.
The latest statement comes as security concerns remain high in the region. Pakistan says it will continue raising the issue at international forums and seeking support to address terrorism and attacks linked to groups based outside its borders.
