9 News HD: Pakistan have reached the Asian Games 2026 cricket final after defeating Bangladesh by six wickets in the semi-final in Nisshin, Japan.

The match was reduced to 13 overs per side because of wet conditions. Bangladesh scored 111 runs for the loss of seven wickets, with Towhid Hridoy top-scoring with 42 runs from 25 balls.

Pakistan's bowlers kept Bangladesh under pressure early in the innings. Sufyan Moqim took three wickets, while Arafat Minhas picked up two wickets.

Chasing 112 runs, Pakistan also lost wickets early and were 53 for four. However, Abdul Samad and Hasan Nawaz changed the game with a strong unbeaten partnership.

Abdul Samad scored an unbeaten 30 off just 15 balls, while Hasan Nawaz remained not out on 27. Their 59-run partnership helped Pakistan reach 112 for four in 11.3 overs, with nine balls still remaining.

The win sends Pakistan into the Asian Games gold-medal match on October 3. Their opponent will be decided after the second semi-final between India and Sri Lanka.
