9 News HD: Pakistan has asked for real steps to stop Afghan soil from being used for terror attacks against nearby countries, especially Pakistan.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke while addressing a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Contact Group on Afghanistan in New York. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Ishaq Dar showed worry about the presence of terror groups in Afghanistan. Said Pakistan has made big sacrifices in the fight against terror. Ishaq Dar also mentioned the terror attack in Kohat saying such incidents show the serious threat linked to terror in the region.

The deputy prime minister urged the Afghan Taliban to take real steps against terror groups and their safe havens. The deputy prime minister also called on authorities to keep their international promises and work toward a calm and stable Afghanistan.

Pakistan has often raised worries about security threats linked to terror from territory. During his speech Ishaq Dar stressed the need for real steps to stop Afghan soil from being used for attacks against Pakistan and other nearby countries.

Dar also said Pakistan supports an prosperous Afghanistan that can live peacefully with its neighbours. These remarks came while Pakistan’s delegation kept holding meetings, in New York during the UN General Assembly.
